General Guidelines
-
Please, please, please read the submission guidelines! A lot of submissions don't adhere to them, and this makes working through them a lot more difficult!
-
Simultaneous submissions are welcome. If your work is accepted elsewhere, please let us know as soon as possible so we can celebrate with you and withdraw it from consideration.
-
Hybrid work is wonderful (and encouraged!) If your work doesn't fit into a neat category, please just say whatever you think is closest and let us know it's hybrid in your email!
-
Multiple submissions are welcome, but one submission per category only please! Additionally, if sending poetry or artwork, please send all pieces in a single email.
-
A longer response time is usually a good sign! However, if you haven't heard back within two weeks, feel free to send us an email to check we've got your work. Sometimes responses get lost in our spam folder or we miss this accidentally!
-
Previously published work is welcome, provided the original publication permits future publication. Please indicate where the work first appeared.
-
Please attach your submission as a PDF, DOC, or DOCX file where applicable.
-
Include a short third-person biography (50–100 words) in your email, along with any social media handles.
-
At this time, Pressed Flower Review is unable to offer payment for accepted work.
We are especially drawn to work that lingers: writing and art that ache, haunt, comfort, or remain in the mind long after encountering it.
We look forward to reading your work.
